Australian authorities have ended the hunt for a four-year-old who has been lost in the wilderness for almost twenty-one days, after fresh attempts were unable to locate any signs of the boy.

Sequence of Events

Gus Lamont was spotted enjoying himself around his family property on a remote farmland in the vicinity of Yunta, about 186 miles from Adelaide, on late September.

His family member briefly departed for about half an hour before looking for him, only to find the boy missing, prompting one of the largest comprehensive searches in South Australian history.

Present Situation

Authorities - who do not think there was wrongdoing - say they will carry on examining, but that the situation has become a "recovery mission".

Recently, officials for a short time scaled back the search, only to resume it on recently alongside 80 Australian Defense Force staff.
